Hammar H20 Hydrostatic Release Unit for Raft Automatic Life-saving Activation

Ensure the safety of your crew with the Hammar H20 Hydrostatic Release Unit. This innovative release unit is designed to automatically activate life-saving appliances like liferafts in the event of a vessel sinking. As the water pressure increases, the Hammar H20 activates, releasing the life raft or other connected safety devices, allowing them to float free without any manual intervention.

Key Features:

• Automatic Activation: As the vessel sinks, the increasing water pressure activates the Hammar H20. The spring-loaded knife cuts through the White Strong Rope or bolt, releasing the liferaft or other life-saving appliances connected to it.

• Cutting Capabilities: The Hammar H20 is designed to cut through tough ropes and, in some applications, unshielded electrical cables.

• Hydrostatic Activation Depth:

  • Yellow Top Label: 1.5 4.0 meters (SOLAS compliant)

  • Green Top Label: approx. 4 meters

  • Blue Top Label: approx. 6 meters

• Weak Link System: The unit uses a breaking strength of 2.2 0.4 kN, with an alternative option being the Red braided polyester line (4.5mm diameter).

• Wide Operating Temperature Range: -30C to +65C, ensuring reliability in various marine environments.

• Service Life: The unit has an operational life of 2 years (24 months) or as otherwise specified upon installation.

Storage and Maintenance:

• Shelf Life: 5 years from the manufacturing date when stored in a dry, UV-protected location.

• Storage Conditions: Store in its original box in a dry, UV-protected space.

• Handling Instructions:

  • Do not power wash or paint the HRU.

  • If dropped or exposed to impact, discard the unit.
